The purpose of this blog is to create interest in our cabin. We're building to own, but also maybe sell in the future (or now if someone wants it).
This is not our first building project. This is the second cabin we've built. But this is the FIRST one that is an Amish Cabin kit. An Amish family in Kentucky builds these cabins out of Southern yellow pine. I can tell you that the quality of the wood is exceptional. Dimensional lumber has decreased in quality over the years so it was nice to see such good wood.
This family specializes on small cabins. We wanted a large one, so they sawed it to our dimensions. Check the pictures to see the way this cabin is being built.
